Your booking will be confirmed upon registration and confirmation of your itinerary of interest and the receipt of a deposit or full payment in agreement with a member of our staff.
3.What are the payment terms?
When you make a firm booking, we would request you to make a 20% deposit. You may choose to pay the remainder in instalments agreed upon by both parties as long as full payment is made prior to the scheduled start of a tour/safari.
4. Do I have to travel with other people?
You can opt to join another group of our visitors. On the contrary, you can also travel with your own group ranging from one person up to our recommended number of eight people. However, we can accommodate larger groups as long as ample time is allowed for the planning. And of course, the bigger the group the more wallet friendly the prices will be. We aim to make your travel experience as comfortable as possible.
5. Can I cancel my booking?
You can cancel and/or reschedule your booking. Our consultant will be in touch with you throughout the planning stage. However, such changes may carry charges depending on how close it is to the departure date (see our Terms and Conditions).
6.What happens if I have a complaint?
We are responsible for our operations. Basically, we strive to settle all complaints amicably with our clients. Should a case arise where no settlement is reached, a third party may be involved (see our Terms and Conditions).
7. Is there a guarantee that I will see wildlife?
We base our operations on experience and experience tells us that when we set out on a specific itinerary, we are bound to see specific wildlife. However, in the case of game, these freely roam their natural habitat. We follow the advice of resident game rangers who have the latest information of previous sightings. This, however, does not constitute a guarantee that a specific type of game will be sighted on a specific day. That is the fun of the search.
8. Can I combine itineraries?
Of course you can. Simply let us know in advance so that our staff can come up with a workable combination.
9. Who will accompany me on a tour/safari?
Apart from other clients that might be booked on the same tour/safari, Rift Valley Discovery Safaris will assign a driver/tour guide, very knowledgeable and experienced about the specific routes of our operations. The assigned driver/tour guide will look into the smooth running of a tour/safari and handle matters such entrance to the national parks, transport, accommodation, meals and all other details included in your trip. We are keen on effective communication. Therefore issues of language and cultural mismatch should not arise.
10. Can there be changes on an itinerary?
Changes to a planned itinerary will be sorted out prior to starting a tour/safari. In cases where there might be unforeseen circumstances solutions will be put into place to ensure the best outcome, to the satisfaction of all parties.
11. I have a special requirement for myself and/or a member of my group. Can it be catered for?
Please let a member of our staff know at the booking and planning stage and we shall furnish you with the relevant information to the best of our knowledge.

The last thing we would like is to compromise the safety of our clients and our own. We operate itineraries that cover the safe parts of the country. Despite the turbulent past, most of the country is safe. We do not currently carry out tours to those parts that have had recent pockets of insecurity, such as the northern part of the country. The good news is that the government and the Lord’s Resistance rebels are involved in peace talks and we hope to cover the whole country as soon as situation is deemed safe.
